Key Features:
- Composition: Mud clay consists of fine particles of earth, including silt, sand, and clay minerals, blended with water to create a pliable substance that can be easily shaped and molded.
- Texture: Smooth and soft when wet, allowing for intricate detailing and smooth finishes. It firms up as it dries, making it ideal for both small and large-scale projects.
- Color: Typically earthy tones ranging from rich browns to reds, though it can vary depending on the source of the clay.
Applications:
- Pottery & Ceramics: Perfect for creating functional or decorative pottery, including bowls, plates, and vases.
- Sculpture: Ideal for both detailed and large sculptures, offering a medium that can hold fine details while still being easy to manipulate.
- Construction: Mud clay is used in eco-friendly building techniques such as cob and adobe for walls, homes, and structures.
- Crafts & DIY Projects: Excellent for a variety of creative uses, including making figurines, jewelry, and other hand-crafted items.
Benefits:
- Eco-friendly: As a natural material, mud clay is sustainable and non-toxic, making it an environmentally friendly choice for both artists and builders.
- Easy to Work With: It can be easily shaped, molded, and textured, giving artists the freedom to create detailed designs or smooth finishes.
- Durability: Once dried and fired (if needed), mud clay becomes solid and durable, making it suitable for both decorative and functional items.
- Cost-Effective: Compared to other modeling materials, mud clay is often more affordable and accessible, especially in areas where it is abundant.
Usage Tips:
- Moisture Control: Keep the clay moist while working with it, as it can dry out and become too hard to mold. Re-wet it as needed to maintain its workability.
- Drying & Firing: Allow your creations to dry completely before firing (if required), ensuring they harden properly. Some types of mud clay may require a kiln for firing, while others can air dry.
This natural material is a versatile solution for artists, builders, and DIY enthusiasts alike, offering endless possibilities for both creative and practical projects. Whether you’re crafting unique pieces of art or building eco-friendly structures, Mud Clay provides a reliable, sustainable option for all your needs.

Klay On Plus Unpigmented Clay Softener – Polymer Clay Oven Bake 25g
Klay-On! Plus Softener- 25g
- Unpigmented clay
- For special techniques, e.g. Veneering, Mold-Filling, and Adhesion etc.
- Mix a small quantity
- Use at most 1/3rd Softener in your Klay-On! Polymer Clay.
- Tacky and flexible
If you see Klay-On! Plus Polymer Clay is not softening even after conditioning, this could be due to poor storage or very low room temperature. The Softener is unpigmented clay which does not change the original clay’s color if used in small quantity. The Softener can be used with Polymer Clay for special techniques, e.g. Veneering, Mold-Filling, and Adhesion etc. How to Use: For best results, start with mixing a small quantity of Softener into your Polymer Clay and knead. Add more softener only if needed. You may need to add more softener depending on your climatic conditions. Use at most 1/3rd Softener in your Klay-On! Polymer Clay. Precaution: The Softener itself is tacky and flexible. If used in large quantity, it may cause your charm to lose shape and sharpness.
